BUSINESS BACKGROUND:

In 1962 : Mr. Ravi Prakash Khemka came to Chennai and
started business of Steel Fabrication, Bright Bar and Steel Structural Units. He founded SRC INDUSTRIES. The business was later diversified to explore the export potential and found ways to African markets for Real Madras Handkerchiefs, Rice Hullers, Bicycles, Wire Nails etc. etc.

In 1975 – 1982 : Achieved highest Export turnover in the
Country by exporting Bright Steel Bars & Shaftings, Textiles and general items. During this period, he travelled and experienced the World culture several times.

In 1982 : Mr. Ravi Prakash Khemka pioneered to
harness Wind Energy potential, which was then taking shape as a successful alternative to conventional source. His pioneering effort became successful when Mr. Ravi Prakash Khemka aided by his sons established a new Company in the name of Natural Energy Processing Company to harness Wind Energy and set up first Wind Farm in Gujarat in India in 1986. Before that he started manufacturing Water Pumping Wind Mills with a modification in technology and installed over thousand Water Pumping Wind Mill throughout the Country.

In 1986 : Mr. Ravi Prakash Khemka pioneered the
concept of Wind Energy in India in 1980. In the year 1989, he established NEPC MICON LIMITED in collaboration with the World Leader in Wind Energy – Micon of Denmark. Mr. Ravi Prakash Khemka is the pioneer in bringing Wind Energy in Asia. He has created a revolution in Wind Energy by installing over 450 MW capacity.

Today NEPC INDIA LIMITED is the No.1 company in the World under his able stewardship and only Company from India to stand in a particular field No.1 in the World in the year 1996, NEPC INDIA LIMITED holds 40% market share in India.

In 1991 : Mr. Ravi Prakash Khemka made another
pioneering effort and formed NEPC AGRO FOODS LIMITED. The first Indian Company to have branded the basic consumer products like Atta, Maida and Sooji. Today the branded “TRUPTHI” products include Atta, Maida, Sooji, Mineral Water and Iodised Salt and has created a market share of more than 30% in South India and 15% in the National level.

In 1992 : The next attempt of NEPC GROUP under the
leadership of Mr. Ravi Prakash Khemka was to establish NEPC TEA GARDEN LIMITED to produce super class Tea. The Company acquired 2000 Acres of flourishing and potential Tea Gardens in Anamalai Hills of Tamil Nadu situated at a commanding location on the eastern slope natures misty environment, produces best leaves. NEPC TEA fetches the highest price in the auction centers. NEPC TEA GARDEN was merged with NEPC AGRO FOODS LTD for synergetic reasons.

In 1993 : The Group further diversified into Textile
Industry. The NEPC TEXTILES LIMITED was established in 1993 with the object of manufacturing yarn. With 30,000 spindles it factures Premium Quality hosiery yarn marketed under “TRUPTHI” brand which fetches the highest price in Southern India. It manufactures with ISO 9002 quality certificate.

In 1994 : Mr Ravi Prakash Khemka then plunged into Airline
business. NEPC Airlines was launched on 22nd March, 1994 to connect for the first time in India, the unserved & underserved destinations. NEPC AIRLINES is the most successful India’s first Private scheduled feeder Airlines.

In 1995 : The major achievement this year was the “Strategic
Alliance” with Damania Airways later taken over and rechristened as SKYLINE NEPC. SKYLINE NEPC & NEPC AIRLINES together formed India’s largest private Airlines & networked the entire country. NEPC Airlines and Skyline NEPC Ltd. covered 33 destinations in Indian Sky.

Mr. Ravi Prakash Khemka decided to diversify into yet another line, i.e. manufacture of Paper. Thus NEPC PAPER AND BOARD LIMITED was established to manufacture different kinds of paper & packaging materials.

Yet another diversification was the introduction of NEPC COMUNICATION a Satellite Channel launched on October 2nd 1995, providing 20 hours continuous embarrassment free entertaining & educative programmes viewed all over India & 40 other countries.

In 1996 : In April, 1996 NEPC entered into the Pharmaceutical
line. NEPC PHARMACHEM (a division of NEPC AGRO FOODS LIMITED) was India’s first company in the organized sector to manufacture & market pharmaceuticals in generic names and branded products.
